I’m a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.

My research in ethics and epistemology explores the value of knowledge, the epistemic norms of practical deliberation, and the relationship between what to think and what to do. I’m especially interested in the use of evidence in the law and science, and the parallels with everyday reasoning. My research interests also include feminist theory and climate justice; and I’ve worked on climate resilience projects in urban and rural communities.

In 2023-24, I’ll be teaching Logic, Philosophy of Religion, Theory of Knowledge, and a Seminar on Evidence in the Law.

My B.A. in mathematics and philosophy is from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and PhD in philosophy is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Last year, I was a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT, and a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University.

Outside of philosophy, I’m a cellist and a member of the Augusta Symphony Orchestra.
